Questions & Answers
The Management Crash Course is an AI training for companies that want to assess and classify artificial intelligence in a structured, collaborative way. It focuses on interdisciplinary teams looking to build a shared knowledge base — whether as an entry point into the topic or to contextualize existing activities.
The format deliberately addresses the management and decision-making level. It is suited for C-level executives, first and second-level managers, and those responsible for strategy, innovation, digitalization, IT, data, or operations. What matters is not the formal role, but the responsibility to evaluate AI across the organization and translate it into sound decisions.
The crash course is particularly valuable for companies with a low to medium AI maturity level that seek clarity instead of reactionism. It is not a technical training, but a strategic enablement format that builds shared understanding and anchors AI as a consciously manageable topic within the organization.
The AI Management Crash Course takes one day. In the morning, core AI fundamentals and contextual frameworks are covered. After the lunch break, the agenda is tailored specifically to your individual focus topics.
The workshop day is complemented by several preparatory meetings with relevant executives and responsible persons to ensure content and priorities are carefully aligned. The format is designed to fit even busy schedules, addressing the topic efficiently and with focus in a short time.
No prior AI knowledge is required for this upskilling program. The AI Management Crash Course is explicitly designed for participants who have had little or no exposure to AI. Content is delivered in an accessible, practical way, guided by real-world questions.
At the same time, existing knowledge is not a barrier — it is welcome. Regardless of individual prior knowledge, the crash course enables all participants to truly understand how AI works, to assess it realistically, and to make informed judgments about what AI can deliver — and what it cannot. We go as deep into the topics as makes sense for your company and explain connections in detail where needed.
In advance, we assess the knowledge level of your team and align content priorities and depth accordingly.
Yes — especially then, the AI Management Crash Course is particularly valuable. The format is deliberately designed as an entry-level format and thus the perfect start for your AI journey.
The workshop helps to clarify terminology, expectations, and assumptions early on, preventing reactionism or premature tool decisions. External impulses, hype, and internal ideas are realistically assessed, ensuring the right questions are asked before solutions are sought. This creates a shared foundational understanding within management and a solid basis for next steps.
During the workshop, initial concrete areas for action emerge for your company. These include prioritized AI use cases and clearly defined governance tasks as the foundation for upcoming decisions and further planning of your AI journey.
The ideal group size is between 5 and 20 people. Within this range, high interaction is ensured, all participants can be actively involved, and discussions can be facilitated in a targeted manner.
Larger groups of up to 50 people are also possible. In these cases, we adapt the methodology and facilitation — for example through World Café formats or parallel working groups — so that a vibrant discussion culture and diverse perspectives are maintained even with larger numbers.
Pricing is based on tiered rates according to the number of participants.
The AI Management Crash Course is most effective when carried by an interdisciplinary team. Artificial intelligence is not an isolated IT topic, but affects virtually all areas of an organization — from strategy and processes to IT, data, and operations, through to data privacy and regulation. Accordingly, the workshop should bring together different perspectives.
The focus is on people with design and decision-making authority, not just those who are interested. Particularly suited are first and second-level managers as well as key individuals who have good insight into their areas of responsibility and processes and who will later consciously manage, take responsibility for, or translate AI into decisions.
A purely technical or IT-only group falls short. What matters is the combination of management perspective and domain expertise to recognize potential early, assess it realistically, and evaluate it together. The goal of the workshop is to build a broad, shared knowledge base that serves as the foundation for sustainable AI adoption.
Yes. Customization is a core element of the AI Management Crash Course. The format deliberately offers a broad selection of topics, from which you choose the focus areas that are currently relevant for your company.
Before the workshop, we assess the context of your company and the knowledge level of the team. On this basis, we prepare the topics that truly matter to you — no standard program, no unnecessary filler.
During the workshop itself, you select from the proposed topic modules the priorities that match your situation. This creates a format that goes deep on content exactly where your company needs it — from strategic assessment to concrete questions.
Existing AI initiatives are not an obstacle, but a good starting point. The AI Management Crash Course picks up exactly where many companies stand: with individual projects, pilots, or ideas that have not yet been considered in an overall context.
In the workshop, we make existing AI initiatives visible and put them into context. This creates a consistent overall picture that shows how current and potentially future AI use cases interact and what areas for action can be derived.
On this basis, the crash course becomes the foundation for a comprehensive AI strategy. Instead of launching new activities, it creates clarity about what already exists, how it fits the business model, and what next steps make sense.
After the workshop, you have the strategic and theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence — from the capabilities and limitations of generative and agentic AI to identifying suitable use cases. If you’re ready to move into implementation, we’re happy to advise and support you. Possible next steps along our product portfolio:
AI Ideation Workshop
In the AI Ideation Workshop, initial ideas from the crash course are developed into concrete, detailed AI use cases together with operational teams. Existing processes are reimagined and specifically linked to AI. The resulting use cases are thoroughly evaluated, prioritized by ROI and impact, and translated into a roadmap.
100 Days MVP
With the 100 Days MVP, you move directly into implementation. Within a fixed time and budget framework, we deliver the first productive version of your AI project. The result is not a demo or prototype, but a deployable solution that is used in practice and serves as the basis for scaling.
AI Team
In the consulting format AI Strategy Team or AI Tech Team, we support you long-term on all strategic and technical questions along your AI journey.
AI Platform Galilea
Alternatively or additionally, you can become a user of our AI Platform Galilea. Galilea enables the secure and GDPR-compliant use of large language models and makes your company’s knowledge intelligently accessible at all times.
A good AI workshop doesn’t just answer the question “What is AI?” but above all “What does AI specifically mean for our company?” From our perspective at PLAN D, the quality of a workshop can be measured against clear criteria:
Relevance over theory
A good workshop works with real, economically and strategically relevant examples and provides insights into concrete AI projects from practice.
Assessment over hype
AI is neither overhyped nor downplayed, but realistically assessed with its possibilities and limitations.
Substance over buzzwords
It’s about solid expertise on AI capabilities overall — not just about LLMs, prompting, or tool demos.
Interdisciplinary exchange
A good workshop brings management, departments, and technology together and enables cross-functional discussions.
Clarity for decisions
The goal is to derive concrete areas for action and next steps, not to impart knowledge for its own sake.
Responsibility built in
Regulation, governance, and responsible use of AI are integral components.
Experience in facilitation
Facilitated by practitioners who know AI from real projects, not just from training materials.
These are exactly the criteria by which we design the AI workshops and consulting formats at PLAN D.
PLAN D combines strategic clarity with real implementation experience. Our work is based on actual AI projects, not theory or buzzwords. We know how AI works in organizations, where it creates value, and where its limits lie.
Our formats are clearly defined and offered at a fixed price. This creates predictability and security. With experience from many management workshops and complex decision-making processes, we facilitate in a way that creates orientation and makes decisions possible.
PLAN D supports companies along their entire AI journey. From the initial assessment through concrete implementation steps to long-term development. In doing so, we approach AI responsibly and with regulatory diligence, providing well-founded guidance on GDPR and the EU AI Act.
As a partner, we understand the reality of mid-sized companies and complex organizations. We work as a long-term, reliable partner — not a short-term impulse provider.
